1. Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps The Farewell Guide Limited has taken during the financial year ending 31 December 2024 to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains.

2. Our Business

The Farewell Guide Limited is a private limited company operating in the UK, providing digital funeral planning tools and services. We help individuals and families plan, compare, and arrange funeral services through an online platform and connect with local funeral directors. Our business activities fall under SIC codes 62090 (Other information technology service activities) and 96030 (Funeral and related activities).

3. Our Supply Chains

Our supply chain is relatively simple and primarily includes:

  • Technology service providers (e.g., hosting, software development)
  • Marketing and content creation partners
  • Funeral service providers listed on our platform

We consider the risk of modern slavery in our direct operations to be low due to the nature of our business. However, we remain vigilant regarding risks in our extended supply chain, particularly among third-party service providers.

4. Policies and Commitments

We are committed to ethical business practices and have implemented the following:

  • A Code of Conduct that prohibits forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking
  • A Whistleblowing Policy that encourages reporting of unethical behaviour
  • Supplier onboarding checks that include ethical sourcing and compliance declarations
5. Due Diligence

We conduct due diligence on new suppliers and partners, including:

  • Reviewing their modern slavery policies (where applicable)
  • Assessing their geographical and sectoral risk
  • Requiring contractual commitments to comply with the Modern Slavery Act
  • Carrying out checks on all approved funeral directors listed on our platform to ensure they meet our ethical and operational standards
6. Training and Awareness

While we are a small team, we ensure that all staff are aware of modern slavery risks through:

  • Internal briefings and resources
  • Access to external guidance (e.g., from the UK Government and NGOs)
7. Monitoring and Effectiveness

We review our policies annually and monitor:

  • Supplier compliance
  • Any reports or concerns raised internally or externally
  • Changes in legislation or best practices
8. Board Approval

This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of The Farewell Guide Limited and will be reviewed annually.
