Initially run by founder Alexander Easton, the company is now run by his son Graeme who, after a career as a frontline fire fighter with Lothian and Borders Fire Service has become a highly respected Funeral Director and is a British Institute of Funeral Directors qualified Embalmer. Graeme holds the highest level of funeral qualifications available in the UK at Level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework. Graeme has a passion for service that has seen him over the years become a specialist height appliance driver and operator, part of a tactical ship firefighting team and after the twin towers tragedy, part of the team formed to deal with any biological, chemical or radiation incidents that may occur here. Graeme’s life-long experience in always providing the best possible standard of service and care have been put to good use in the family funeral care business where he ensures similar levels of care and attention are always applied. Every effort is made to ensure that standards never drop and that our customers faith in us always respected and never misplaced. Graeme is the only person in Scotland and only the third person in the UK to have been elected the National President of the British Institute of Funeral Directors and the British Institute of Embalmers.

The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.

1. This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.

2. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.
