Fred Hamer is one of the region’s oldest family owned and run funeral directors. John, the firm’s Managing Director, who has been running the business for more than 50 years, is assisted by his wife Dawn and daughters Emma and Hannah. He has built a team of highly experienced staff, many of whom have been with the firm for over 25 years. Over the years, the firm has grown significantly and has branches throughout the North West. From its operational base at Cedar Lodge, Rawtenstall, the firm runs one of the largest fleets of Mercedes and Rolls Royce ceremonial vehicles in the area. In addition to serving their own funerals, these vehicles are also made available to other firms who don’t have vehicles of their own.
