M L Williams Funeral Directors was established in Ayr in February 1982 when Mr Michael Leslie Williams was made redundant from large department store Affleck’s of Ayr when it closed. Mike had worked as the in-house Funeral Director in Affleck’s for 11 years. Mike continues to work today as an ambassador and mentor and his care and assistance is invaluable. The team at our funeral home will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process, and will arrange an individual and unique funeral to help you celebrate the life of your loved one. We can help to plan religious and non-religious funeral services and serve many different faiths. Our current building was built in 2005 and has its own service venue which seats 50, and two private viewing rooms. Our nearest church is St James Parish Church but we work with many others in the area. We will discuss your requirements and confirm all costs in an estimate.

The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.
1. This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.
2. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.
