Quinn Bros. was established in 1947 by Hugh A Quinn Snr, who acquired premises at 42 Woodhouse Street, which was the birth place of Sir Robert Hart. Hugh moved from Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, where his brother Thomas Andrew (T.A.) Quinn was established in the funeral business, continuing the tradition started by their father Thomas in the early 1900’s. After being approached by a close friend, Hugh moved to Portadown in 1947 to establish the funeral business along with a spirit, grocery and meal business. Hugh died in July 1972 and the business was carried on by his son Hugh, who had been helping his father from a young age. His brother Sean (deceased) joined him in 1978. The business continues today, covering a wide area, with Hugh and his nephew Dermot, together with their dedicated team, strive to provide a quiet, professional service to all.
