About Us
Why choose Towners? We are the oldest established locally owned undertakers in the Hastings and Rother area - the last of the independents from the 19th Century. This year is our 147th anniversary. We are a small, family owned business so we don’t have to answer to shareholders in the way the big, national companies have to. Our fees have always been extremely competitive and we do not ‘sell up’ the funeral with, for instance, a more expensive coffin than is necessary. Our full, itemised funeral price list is on this website. There are no hidden extras – you can easily see how much your chosen funeral will cost. What sets us apart is our brilliant team (more like family friends really), many of whom have been with the company for a long, long time. It is their hard work and dedication that we are so proud of. From your first contact with us we will support you through all the decisions and choices involved in arranging a funeral. You will have all the time and personal attention you need to get things just right. There may be tears but there may also be laughter as the memories flow and, as we work together, the ideas for your loved one’s send off take shape. Wherever possible we will ensure that the funeral director you meet at the arrangements interview will be the funeral director looking after you on the day of the funeral. Our stonemasonry artists are, we believe, producing some of the finest work in the UK today. Their skill and creativity are at your disposal to bring your ideas to fruition. We may have our roots in the past but our vision is to the future: our dedicated team strives constantly to improve and we are always ready to embrace new ideas.
