An independent family business founded by Jonathan Alcock in 1863, originally a builders and funeral directors.
All our team members are qualified and have been with the company for a long time. We know our trade and along with the traditional aspects of funeral arranging we can move with the times and look to accommodate the many different requirements and wishes of our clients who want to give their loved ones the most appropriate and dignified final goodbye. We like to be involved with and support community projects organised by local groups and churches and we encourage our families to use other local businesses, such as florists and catering establishments. We are proud of our community and want the village to flourish. Because we are independent, we are not here to sell the most expensive products or services for our own gain, we want to tailor each funeral to encompass our families requirements. We also offer a very clear and transparent funeral estimate at the time of making funeral arrangements and we feel that our pricing is competitive without losing the high standard of service that our families should receive every step of the way. There will never be any hidden costs or surprise additions to the final bill, we are honest, transparent and proud to have always worked this way for many years. We are here for you at your greatest time of need and whilst we cannot take away the pain that comes with suffering a bereavement, we can work alongside you to help you every step of the way. We want you to feel supported, guided and cared for and to ensure that your loved one’s life is honoured in the way you want it to be. We promise that we will always carry out all our services in a highly professional, respectful, dignified and thoughtful manner. We will be guided by you and your wishes and your religious and cultural requirements will be totally considered. You will be given a copy of our terms and conditions with our itemised funeral estimate which we request you to sign after reading and agreeing to them. We are working closely with the latest GDPR guidelines, our full policy can be found on this website. We hope that you will be totally satisfied with the service you receive from us but if you have any queries or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact us and we will respond to you immediately.
